Job description

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High school diploma required. College degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in vocational or trade applications in basic repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, security, and electrical work.
  3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping and construction oversight.
  4. Computer knowledge necessary for correspondence and reporting.
  5. Must have a current driver’s license and driver’s insurance.
  6. Must be able to provide some of own tools.
  7. Demonstrate proven sensitivity to the various cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of Children’s Home clients and staff, including a commitment to use of the Sanctuary Model and to the philosophy of All Children, All Families framework of cultural competencies.

SUMMARY of POSITION

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the upkeep of the overall physical plant and ensures the buildings and grounds are maintained in a safe manner by performing hands-on maintenance tasks, oversight of the other facilities staff, and oversight of the housekeeping staff. All State, Federal, Licensing and local requirements must be met.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES en

Performs needed repairs, performs preventative maintenance tasks of facilities and manages other staff that assist with those duties. (75% of time anticipated).

  1. Secures outside services for larger repairs and services when necessary. Obtain required permits and inspections to meet the local and state building codes.
  2. Organize and directs the taking of bids for contracted services (sprinkler system, fire extinguishers, fire alarm system, security, pest control, lawn, heating services, sanitation services, etc.) and the overseeing of each contractor’s performance.
  3. Assists the staff in setting up rooms for special meetings or training events.
  4. Maintain and keeps record of the upkeep of the buildings and equipment to ensure all is operating properly and within the required local codes and state licensing regulations.
  5. Ensures high standards of compliance to internal and state agency policies and procedures related to residential care facilities.
  6. Responsible for conducting tornado and fire drills along with other safety drills in order to maintain regulatory compliance.
  7. Shares 24 hours on-call rotation with Facilities Aide when it comes to facility emergencies.
  8. Facility liaison with state and local fire, health, and other state inspection officials.
  9. Assists in developing a business plan for the facilities and is responsible for budgetary revenue related to the annual fiscal goals.
  10. Attend required trainings as assigned.
  11. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  12. Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by the CEO.

  REQUIRED ABILITIES and WORK ENVIRONMENT

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, squat, climb ladders, and hold objects or carry.
  2. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  3. May be exposed to inclement weather, including a variety of temperatures and humidity in an outdoor environment.
  4. Maybe exposed to loud noise.
