Job description
Assist Teachers in the supervision of all children in their room while ensuring activities and curriculum, are adhered to as required by the Director.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the supervision of children at all times maintaining a secure, safe environment for children to play and learn in
- Follow instructions issued by the classroom Teacher
- Adhere to proceedings and regulations with the Department of Children and Families. (aka DCF)
- Assist in the completion of the daily reports
- Only give feedback to a parent if instructed by the Teacher or Director
- Keep the classroom clean and tidy as instructed by the Teacher
- Change diapers where necessary as instructed by the Teacher
- Always comply with the presentation requirements set by the company
- Attend ongoing training to keep education and regulations up to date
- Any other duties required by the position.
- From time to time, this position may require over-time, evening, and weekend hours.
- Must be able to adapt to continuously changing, fast-paced environment, and make the children's needs the primary focus.
- Must be an educator. Ladybird Academy is an educational facility and prides itself on teaching and educating children preparing them for the next stage in their lives.
- Must be able to fully engage in physical activity including lifting up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to kneel, squat, stoop, crawl, lift, push, and pull.
- Must be able to engage in activities including but not limited to jumping, dancing, and running, walking, hopping, and skipping.
Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or GED
- 45 State-Mandated Training Hours
- First Aid/CPR certification
- No pending or past arrest record
- Reliable transportation
- Willing to be assigned to alternate locations, from time-to-time
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
