Part-Time Board Operator for Townsquare Media

Townsquare Media is looking for a hardworking, team-oriented professional that wants to dive into a career in media in an entry-level role. The ideal candidate is an outgoing, reliable, self-starter with a flexible schedule to provide support to multiple departments including, our operations, broadcast, digital, events, and other stations. You’ll be an in-studio producer for live Binghamton Rumble Ponies baseball games. This position includes various weekday, night and weekend hours. Hours vary based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Operates control board for Binghamton Rumble Ponies Minor League Baseball games.
• Regulates program timing and plays commercials
• Performs all other duties required by the broadcast team.
• Monitors the technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming from the master control room
• Protects station’s license by censoring live programs and deleting words/phrases not permitted on-air
• Processes time-out programming for accurate playback
• Follows all FCC guidelines
• Checks studio equipment for proper functioning and notifies Engineering of technical malfunctions affecting the quality of the broadcast
• Handles emergency inserts (e.g. news updates, breaking stories, alert system tests)
• Performs basic office administrative functions
• Sets up and runs audio and other types of equipment; hangs banners and other staging elements
• Records events (i.e. photos, videos, audio, and social media measures for station promotions)
• Sets up, breaks down, and transports promotional event equipment as required

• Must be a self-starter who excels at working independently, with a proven track record of independent judgment and decision making
• Willingness to multi-task and work beyond the job description
• Availability to work days, nights, and weekends
• Project management from start to finish, assuming responsibility and accountability for assignments and tasks
• Education: High school degree (required); College degree (preferred)

Pay Range: $15 an hour
