As a Lead Technical Writer within Ad Platforms, you will:
- Write technical documentation for internal or external technical audiences, such as API (REST) reference docs and document functional end-user product for business and product partners.
- Translate technical documentation into relevant, accurate, and intuitive training and user guides for internal operational teams.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations and Sales to disseminate and evangelize user guides throughout user acceptance testing and go-to-market.
- Prioritize documentation sets for existing APIs and internal products and tools.
- Update existing documentation and provide mentorship to other team members to improve documentation.
- Work with engineering teams to supplement developer documentation with relevant code samples.
- Lead all aspects of documentation efforts with development and QA engineers to ensure the software developed matches the technical specifications and vice versa.
- Analyze content to maintain continuity of style and voice.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent years of experience
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- You can review application code and understand RESTful requests, responses and callbacks.
- You have experience working with collaboration tools like the Confluence Wiki.
- You are comfortable working in Google Docs and visual diagramming tools like Lucid Chart.
- You are familiar with agile planning tools like JIRA or Trello.
- You have experience with documentation tools such as Madcap Flare and Swagger.
The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $136,100 to $182,400 per year, in NYC and Seattle is $142,600 to $191,100 and in San Francisco is $149,000 - $199,800 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
