Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Role/Purpose:
To provide support for fabrication and specifically the machine shop as the utility production technician.
The Production Utility Technician is responsible for ensuring all activities prior and post CNC production are completed. Responsibilities also include cross training on all CNC equipment, relieving machinists through breaks and lunches and any other tasks necessary to ensure that equipment keeps running.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Physically and systematically receive and verify raw material receipts
Ability to safely load and unload material both manually and utilizing a forklift
Communicate material location changes with inventory team
Audit inventory of raw materials and monitor inventory levels
Cycle Counting
Pull parts kits using computer information using SAP
Deliver finished parts to the correct staging location
Deburr parts and help ensure quality is being met
Operate machines during other team members’ breaks and lunches
Following the work schedule as assigned and ability to layout the correct priorities for the work scheduled
Perform inspection checks on processed parts
Perform diagnostic checks and maintenance of machinery
Correct usage of job tracking software
Maintain our FPY Goals ensuring it is done right the first time every time

Keep assigned area clean and organized to 5S Standards
Ability to train and be cross trained in various machining equipment
Some knowledge CNC software programs
Other duties as assigned
What You Need to Succeed
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic hand tools and squaring and straight edge tools
- Cross Train in all areas requiring CNC processes
- Ability to load and unload the machine with various types of material
- Ability to prioritize and problem solve
- Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and engineered drawings
- Perform Daily, Weekly, and scheduled and unscheduled TPM and Vendor required maintenance
- MRP System experience
- Some experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to perform duties using metric and American measurements
- Able to follow written and oral instruction
- Ability to work in a high paced environment
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and work in multiple positions (ie stand, sit, lay, squat, bend, kneel) for prolonged periods of time
Minimum Education / Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Trade School or Apprentice Program or 1-2 years minimum experience in similar position
