​Summary

As a Quality Lab Associate at E. & J. Gallo Winery’s Modesto headquarters lab, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the production of high-quality wines and spirits. You will perform physical, microbial, and chemical analysis of grape products and alcoholic beverages to ensure that all materials are tested accurately and reliably. Your work will involve operating and maintaining analytical equipment, cleaning and maintaining the lab, and supporting various winery functions. With your attention to detail and commitment to quality, you will contribute to the success of the winery and help create exceptional products for consumers to enjoy. 

What You Will Do

Product Sample Logistics

• Collects and delivers wine samples on a predetermined scheduled basis from the cellar, bottling room, and MSC to the WAM laboratory in a timely manner.
• Logs sample results into the laboratory information management system so winemakers, team leaders, operation manager and the Quality leadership team members are constantly aware of the quality of the product being produced at that time.
• Microbial and Analytical Chemical Analysis
• Supports and performs microbiological analysis and preparation such as, plate reading, sample plating, sample collection, monitoring bottling line and shipping sanitation efficacy, media prep, sterilizing bottles, and saline tube prep as directed.
• Prepares standard laboratory solutions as needed.

What You Will Need

• Associates degree to include 1 year of college level chemistry or biology; OR Associates degree plus 1 year of laboratory support experience; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of laboratory support, manufacturing quality assurance, retail customer service or production/operations experience.
• Experienced in reading and comprehending simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Experienced in writing simple correspondence and procedures.
• Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers
• Required to maintain 3 shift availability (day, swing, and graveyard); required to work overtime when necessary; required to work weekends when necessary.
• Required to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Required to stand for long periods of time.
• Required to be at least 21 years of age.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Compensation :

• Hiring Salary Range Posted: $21.45 -$28.95
• Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
