Zero labs is on a mission to bring Premium Classic Vehicles into the modern world through electrification. We are looking for a scrappy, entrepreneurial, and enthusiastic Public Policy and Development Lead. What you will do:
- Source and lead policy and other development efforts for Zero Labs that capitalize on opportunities in publicly available funding, grants, or other incentives. Specific initial focus areas are in clean-energy, renewables, electrification, labor development, and technology.
- Research, monitor and analyze the dynamically changing environment of utilities, infrastructure, government needs, and other offerings to inform Zero Labs' growth strategy.
- Build and maintain relationships with Local, State, and National governments and industry leaders to position Zero Labs for advancement as a key partner in electrification efforts.
- Work alongside Zero Labs Leadership to execute on deals that require the utilization of rebate and grant funding. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day work of accessing funding and project management of execution.
- Develop a coalition of relevant organizations, companies, and investors to tackle common goals and interests.
- Represent Zero Labs in meetings, hearings, and other critical engagements with support of Zero Labs leadership team.
- Assist with expansion and growth planning efforts as Zero Labs scales its footprint and scope of industry.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree Business, Public Policy, or related field is required.
- 5+ years of experience in energy policy, electrification, government affairs, or related fields is required. Direct experience in EV, automotive, charging, or maritime industries is preferred.
- Direct exposure to working with local, state, or federal energy agencies.
- Track-record of leading sourcing and completion of deals involving grants and other investment projects.
- An existing network of contacts in California (or other) state government and development agencies.
- Excellent intrapersonal skills and drive to establish new relationships to solve problems.
- Expertise in Administrative and Spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel, Sheets) and Databases.
- Superior documentation and organizational skills, including ability to generate objective reports and follow-up.
- Excellent analytical and negotiating skills, adaptable mindset, and excitement to work in a startup environment.
- A positive, self-starting attitude that works well with others, can be accountable to customers, and hold others accountable.
