Overview:

SUMMARY

The hair stylist is primary responsible for providing safe, professional, friendly, and courteous Hair services in a timely and efficient manner. This may include Cuts, Shapes, Trims, Tapers, as well as applying hairdressings, dyeing, shampooing, or styling hair, and massaging face, neck, or scalp.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform Hair treatments for guests in accordance with prescribed treatment protocols and department standards. This may include Cuts, Shapes, Trims, Tapers, as well as applying hairdressing, dyeing, shampooing, or styling hair, and massaging face, neck, or scalp.
• Follow all regulations in accordance with the Utah State Board of Cosmetology.
• Arrive 15 minutes prior to shift to check schedule, prepare work area, and check in with supervisor.
• Proper setup of work areas in accordance with SOP's.
• Keep all equipment sterile.
• Must have the knowledge and ability or be willing to learn all Core Spa Treatments as determined by management.
• Must have complete working knowledge of:

1. all Company and Spa Standard Operating Procedures
2. all Spa/Salon services and products
3. all Red Mountain programs.

• Must attend all Resort, Spa and departmental meetings and trainings.
• Assist in maintaining an ample supply of all products necessary to perform hair services. Legibly complete requisitions for supplies/materials and submit to supervisor.
• Start and end spa treatments on time.
• Escort guests to and from treatments. Be able to offer guests directions to other parts of the property.
• Make product recommendations to guests.
• Make sure hair station is clean, made up and stocked prior to end of shift.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Red Mountain Gold Star Standards.
• Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • One-year certificate from college or technical school; six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to use computer and basic software related to treatment scheduling.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, to guests and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to accurately follow company procedures for processing guest vouchers.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with multiple situations with little supervision. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.

 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

State of Utah Cosmetology License.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move at least 80 pounds at a time. The employee must have manual dexterity to operate Spa equipment and perform above listed job duties.

 

The employee must be flexible in working evenings, weekends and holidays and comply with department's uniform requirements .

Compensation Range: The compensation for this position is $31.00/Hr. - $33.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
