Role Purpose:
The Quality Inspector - CMM Programmer position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and is responsible for inspects of machined components to ensure compliance with drawing specifications and support Humanetics Groups as described below.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Operation and Programming Wenzel CMM for part measurements with data analysis for part conformance
- Must be able to program for complex machined components.
- Perform receiving, in-process and final inspection of product to determine product compliance to specifications, including re-work and scrap activities
- Communicates documented inspection results to the Quality Manager and manufacturing personnel as necessary.
- Maintain CMM equipment per ISO requirements for calibration and CMM yearly maintenance.
- Perform and record applicable testing of incoming materials and disposition in ERP system.
- Adhere to all Company and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures.
- Assist with the maintenance of Quality Assurance gage/equipment calibration program.
- Maintain gages and gage calibration (as required)
- Assist with Material Review Board (as required)
- Assist with company data collection activities with meeting support for suppliers / vendors.
- Assist with customer returns and customer complaints.
- Provide feedback of receiving quality issues to supplier development.
- Support PPAP approvals from customers.
- Provide CAD models for engineering changes, gages, and part modifications.
- Interpret GD&T and program the software accordingly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- Associates Degree or quality training in a technical field of study
- Minimum 3 years of CMM programming experience (Polyworks experience a plus)
- Working knowledge of Autodesk applications including Inventor
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints with GD&T requirements
- Knowledge and ability to use measuring equipment, inspection gages, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement and inspection equipment.
Shift: 6am - 2:30pm
8-10 hour days
