Job Title: Director of Safety
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Salary: $130,000-190,000 (Dependent Upon Experience)
What You Will Be Doing
In this role, you will strive for an accident-free workplace and top-tier safety performance. This will be accomplished by setting objectives, implementing programs, inspiring and motivating the entire company, and measuring outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide and develop specialized safety instruction, training, and construction projects that have no incidents or near misses.
- To guarantee safe and effective work environments for all employees, clients, and the general public, operations management should receive coaching, counseling, and advice on safety programs.
- Assure that the most pertinent and efficient internal and external safety procedures are employed and implemented by providing "safety" subject matter expertise.
- Oversee and cultivate a group of safety experts who share your goals and continually exemplify our culture of safe practice.
- Examine all work areas' safety audits. You will respond with safety expertise to all identified deficiencies and requests for safety assistance and improve the efficiency of safety audits.
- Compose professional reports, lead safety meetings, represent the company on all matters pertaining to safety, and investigate and address any queries or worries regarding safety.
- Resolve all safety concerns raised by clients, staff members, and business managers, and offer medical and/or emergency assistance as necessary.
- As necessary, create and implement safety program components to meet customer and legal requirements.
- Conduct thorough, in-depth investigations into every injury and loss incident, pinpoint all contributing factors, create and put into action preventative measures, and monitor the situation to guarantee a lasting solution.
- Ensure that all safety requirements (safety memos, safety bulletins, newsletters, social media posts, etc.) are identified, conveyed to employees, and fulfilled by coordinating with the company management team and customer agencies.
- Oversee the budget for the safety program, including the planning, procurement, distribution, and control of all tools, supplies, and training materials.
- In charge of managing injury cases and working with vendors and insurance representatives
- Other duties as needed
What You Need for this Position
- 8+ Years of Experience in Construction Safety Management
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety & Environmental Health or similar Discipline
- Professional Certification such as CSP, OSHT, etc. is preferred
- Experience working with workers' compensation
- Experience managing a multi-state safety management program is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
- Excellent Communication Skills
