Position Description:

The position Is for an independent, grant-funded researcher using molecular, cellular, or systems approaches to address fundamental questions relevant to the nervous system. This faculty member's research should complement or extend existing basic science and translational research interests in the Dept. of Neurosciences, including synaptic physiology, neural development, plasticity of adult human cortex, intraneuronal signaling and trafficking, and mechanisms of neurological disorders. The position also entails training medical, graduate and undergraduate student

Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:

A Ph.D. and/or M.D./D.O. degree

History of substantial postdoctoral or other research accomplishments

Communication and other skills:

Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills for grant submission, publication, seminars/presentations and teaching.

Effectively manage an extramurally funded research program

Working Conditions:

Works in an academic teaching and research setting based at UT Health Science Campus.
