JOB SUMMARY

This RN Leadership position collaborates with the clinical team, staff, and leaders to promote a patient-centric culture across the continuum of care at UT Southwestern (UTSW) aligning with the organization’s mission and strategic objectives to provide a healthy environment for patients, visitors, and the community. It includes partnership with staff and leaders to achieve an integrated patient and community experience based on exceptional customer service.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).

RN license required.  Current Texas BON (or BNE Compact State)

Three years of experience in healthcare leadership.

Preferred:

Master’s degree preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Supports positive relations between patients, families, clinical team, ambulatory services, and staff by promoting a patient-centric culture across the UTSW continuum of care.
  2. Creates innovative methods for enhancing the UTSW patient experience through recommending improvements, which incorporates the needs of all patient populations.
  3. Serves as a hospital liaison to the Patient Assistance Office (PAO), Risk Management, and Patient Liaison Services (PLS).
  4. Demonstrates the ability to interact with and advocate for patients, families, and visitors.
  5. Assists with planning and facilitating patient admissions and rounding on patients as assigned.
  6. Leads by example, role-modeling expected customer service behaviors and practices.
  7. Accesses patient medical records for review and investigational purposes.
  8. Demonstrates a high level of compassion, sensitivity, and professionalism when working with all patient and visitor populations.
  9. Assists with visitors, events, and tours scheduled at the University Hospital.
  10. Partners with unit and departmental leadership to respond to, coach staff, and resolve patient complaints.
  11. Works in collaboration with patient experience supporting committees, workgroups, and teams.
  12. Requires after hours and weekend coverage
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Security

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in clinical areas and office environments. 

Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimum require prior approval of the Vice President for Human Resources Administration, or his/her designee.

This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code §51.215.
