The Moores Cancer Center (MCC) is one of just 54 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States and the only one in San Diego County. The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Project Manager will play an important role in coordinating efforts to establish, deploy, and evaluate the strategic goals of the inaugural Office of Equity Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) at the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center. MCC is an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center located in southern California. It provides comprehensive, high-quality cancer services to one of the most diverse populations in the nation. The Office of EDI is tasked with contributing to a leadership and workforce that reflects this diversity through the establishment of programs and opportunities to increase the equity, diversity, and inclusion of leadership, faculty, trainees, and staff normally underrepresented in biomedical research.
Key activities include providing oversight of programs, coordination of staff, and support of the Associate Director for EDI. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring transparent, open, and inclusive communication with stakeholders, leadership, program leaders, consortium members, and more, both externally and internally. This position is responsible for overseeing and implementing strategic initiatives, ensuring the timely and high-quality execution of programs, and maintaining adherence to established protocols. The manager will also oversee staff, distribute work assignments, resolve issues, and contribute to the overall success of EDI initiatives and programs. Must be able to leverage expertise in quantitative analysis, project management, and coordination, coupled with proficiency in research and grants management, to contribute effectively to a dynamic work environment. Must excel at synthesizing highly complex and diverse sources of information and data to distill into actionable knowledge for informed decision-making.
Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Management Information Systems, Policy, Statistics, or related area plus three years of related experience/training.
Demonstrated knowledge and skill in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion principles and practices. Strong proven ability to do research and analysis of short- and long-term Health-related Data and trends; experience with proficiency in utilizing quantitative methodologies to interpret complex data sets. Demonstrated ability to extract meaningful insights and trends to support strategic decision-making.
