This full-time teaching position works during the day .

As a Special Education Instructor with our human services nonprofit, each day presents an array of possibilities. You begin by designing a classroom environment that motivates and stimulates your students with disabilities. Sprucing it up with colorful decorations, engaging learning centers, and inspiring visual aids, you create a space that brings learning to life.

Each day as a teacher at our human services nonprofit, you examine your daily written lesson plan, ensuring it's in an accessible book form, just in case an unexpected absence arises. Preparedness is your middle name! Throughout the day, you diligently maintain periodic progress scales for each student with disabilities. In this SPED teacher role, tracking students' growth and achievements is crucial for their success, and you eagerly look forward to celebrating their milestones. Additionally, you attend case conferences at appropriate intervals, collaborating with other professionals to ensure optimal outcomes for your exceptional students.

In your role as a special education teacher, you implement the approved behavioral system and adhere to T.C.I. protocols. With a positive and creative approach, you guide your students toward positive behavior and help them develop vital social skills. High fives and encouraging words fill the air as you witness their growth and ever-growing confidence. Naturally, accurate attendance records are a priority, so you diligently maintain and submit them before the school year concludes. Attention to detail is one of your many strengths!

These Our Treasures, Inc. (TOTS) was established in 1973 and joined The Fedcap Group in 2019. We provide comprehensive early education and habilitation services for children using a transdisciplinary approach, which looks at the whole child and works in partnership with families and caregivers.
