Payrate: $34.19 / hour 

Location: Waterloo, Iowa

Approved Duration: 12 months

Job Description:

This position will work a variable shift so candidates must be open to working 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. Overtime is possible both on weekends and before the shift starts.

 
Manager is willing to see recent grad candidates with Technology/Engineering degrees. 1 or more years of production or manufacturing experience is preferred. This is a shop floor position, so candidates need to be comfortable in this environment.

Will need metatarsals for the first day, business casual dress code. No travel is associated with this position. Person may drive a Deere owned Gator after successfully completing training. Visa sponsorship is not available, now or in the near future, for this position. Interviews will take place onsite or through MS Teams and the position will start onsite on the first day.

This team has experienced quite a few candidates over the last few months who are identified as not viable during the interview or phone screen process. Examples which came up during the interview:

• Unwilling to relocate to Iowa (when this is called out on the job posting).
• Unwilling to work the 3rd shift (when this is called out on the job posting).
• Pay is not aligned (they are asking for something outside of the approved rate).
• Lack of communication skills.
• Lack of “taking it seriously”, and lack of basic professionalism during interviews.

**Due to this, we are implementing a pre-screening checklist that must be completed and attached with every candidate submittal going forward in order for the candidate to be considered. The document is now attached in this requisition.**

Prescreening Checklist:

• Confirm Interest in Job Responsibilities (manufacturing and quality engineering roles, from posting) – from the posting.
• Confirm Interest in Location, Willing to Relocate to the Waterloo, Iowa area.
• Confirm alignment to Shift and Working Hours (including potential overtime during weeks and weekends).
• Confirm alignment to Pay Rate.
• Confirm Communication Skills.
