Job description

DESCRIPTION

Come be a part of a rapidly expanding $25 billion dollar global business. At Amazon Business, we set out every day to innovate and disrupt the status quo. We stand at the intersection of tech and retail in the B2B space developing innovative purchasing and procurement solutions to help businesses and organizations reimagine buying. Bring your insight, imagination and a healthy disregard for the impossible. Join us in building and celebrating the value of Amazon Business to buyers and sellers of all sizes, unlocking our potential worldwide.

Amazon Business (AB) launched in 2015 to meet the business purchasing needs of commercial, government, education and non-profit customers of all sizes worldwide. Today, Amazon Business is loved by diverse customers in 9 countries worldwide (and growing), using experiences designed for desktop, mobile, to emerging smart-shelf technology. In 2021, Amazon Business reached $25 billion in sales, remaining one of Amazon’s fastest-growing segments. And we’re just getting started.
We are seeking a self-motivated, ownership-minded, and nimble Principal UX Program Manager to be a force-multiplier for the Amazon Business UX Design & Research teams, amplifying our efforts and impact. You will be a key member of the leadership team, with the freedom to experiment, improve, invent, and innovate on behalf of tens of millions of customers around the world. This position requires the ability to work quickly, while delivering high-quality outputs in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment. The ideal candidate possesses an excellent understanding of UX processes, razor-sharp project management skills, and is adept at navigating a complex, multi-org technical environment, while focusing on advocating for the customer at all times.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead design delivery by managing team backlogs and removing obstacles, coordinating reviews with stakeholders and leadership, communicating team status, and empowering designers to own their timelines.
• Implement repeatable processes and tools to help the team plan, prioritize, and drive multiple high-priority parallel projects.
• Act as a bridge between UX, Engineering, and Product Management (PM) teams, understanding and accounting for interdependencies between all three groups.
• Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and balance the customer needs versus business goals and technical constraints.
• Standardize, socialize, and continuously improve our user-centered design process.
• Enable creative solutions by leveraging design acumen, high judgement, and knowledge of business and customer experience best practices.
• Define success metrics and be responsible for ensuring their implementation for all our work.
• Promote a sense of transparency, visibility, and community among our team.

About the team
You’ll join a fun, growing team of UX practitioners who help each other develop and thrive. You will have a mentor and a manager that cares about you, your career, and your skills development. You will have autonomy and ownership while contributing to the supportive culture on the team. We gather often to collaborate, ask questions, and grow together, so bring your unique skills and experience and be prepared to share, learn, and grow with us.
