Pathologists' Assistant

Overview:

Ampian Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pathologists' Assistant to join our team for a 13-week contract assignment. This position offers a unique opportunity to work independently, handling approximately 12,000 cases annually. The successful candidate may have the option to transition into a permanent position based on mutual interest.

Responsibilities:

• Independently perform gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens.
• Accurately record and document findings, including measurements, weights, and descriptions.
• Collaborate with pathologists to provide high-quality diagnostic material for patient care.
• Ensure proper specimen handling, processing, and storage.
• Maintain compliance with laboratory protocols, safety regulations, and quality assurance standards.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior staff as needed.

Requirements:

• ASCP certification (Preferred)
• Master's degree in Pathologists' Assistant or related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle a high case volume efficiently.
• Flexibility to adapt to varying work environments and locations.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
