Description: Des Plaines Community Consolidated School District 62 is seeking a Title III Parent University Coordinator. The site for the 23-24 Parent University program is Forest Elementary School. This position is a stipend position beginning on March 15th and continuing through June 30, 2024. The stipend is $5,000.

Job Summary:

The Coordinator will be responsible for:

• coordinating programs for Parent University that address the needs of our EL parent community. For example: supporting children’s SEL, supporting Spanish literacy skills, navigating the American school system, an overview of Special Education services, supporting English language development at home, etc.

• reviewing data to select families to participate.

• recruiting staff to work with students while parents attend workshops

• recruiting presenters for parent workshops

• creating and distributing communication to parents about the program.

• setting up systems to progress monitor the summer program.

• coordinating family field trips that support community and builds background knowledge

• other responsibilities as determined by the Director of Second Language Programs.

Qualifications:

1.) The applicant must have completed all requirements for a Master's degree at an accredited college or university.

2.) PEL with a BIL endorsement and a General Administrative Endorsement.

3.) Experience working with community programs.

4.) Bilingual Spanish preferred.
