Overview of the Role: The Ecommerce Digital Marketing Specialist requires an organized, experienced individual who thrives on creating compelling online shopping experiences. This is a high-profile, results-driven role utilizing digital marketing and merchandising tactics, a customer-centric mindset, and data-driven insights to support acquisition, engagement, and retention initiatives for an established digital organization.
The Ecommerce Digital Marketing Specialist’s primary focus will be increasing the visibility of Woodstream products and driving customer acquisition, both on our own websites and across the web. This role will coordinate on-site merchandising, email marketing, and paid media initiatives to create meaningful cross-channel customer experiences, increase brand awareness, drive on-site traffic & conversions, and establish Woodstream Brands as industry experts.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities: - Develop a comprehensive merchandising strategy across product and content pages for each brand website. Determine which tactics/initiatives are best suited to each page.
- Optimize on-site search functionality to improve consumer experience in line with company’s strategic goals (eg: prioritizing relevant, high-margin items).
- Assist with the development and creation of promotional offers, loyalty programs, etc. to increase traffic and conversions.
- Partner with content team to ensure that site content is clear, compelling, and properly merchandised for maximum conversions and engagement. Ensure that SEO best practices are properly implemented to improve organic search rankings and visibility.
- Maintain product feeds to outside partners to ensure data integrity and increase visibility of Woodstream products via other retail channels.
- Implement cross-channel strategies for customer acquisition, engagement, and conversion. Collaborate with brand, design, and content team members on campaign-specific deliverables.
- Identify and execute enhancements to optimize the customer experience throughout the digital marketing life cycle. Utilize automation, personalization, and other tactics to reach customers with appropriate solutions at each point in their journey.
- Conduct A/B tests and experiments to evaluate website and campaign initiatives. Leverage insights to drive innovation and improvements.
- Analyze and report on site performance KPIs, including, but not limited to: traffic, conversion rate, cart abandonment rate, retention rate, AOV, bounce rate, etc.
- Day-to-day maintenance of all B2B and B2C sites, including, but not limited to: new product set up (including content population, categorization, and attribution), inventory tracking, pricing and promotion validation, content review, general site merchandising.
- Daily management and coordination of digital marketing initiatives to support website and brand goals, including but not limited to: promotional programs, email marketing, and paid media.
- Identify and resolve issues (content and technical) impacting site performance.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Successful Candidate Profile: - 2-4 years recent experience in relevant ecommerce or digital marketing role.
- Thorough understanding of ecommerce, online merchandising, and user experience.
- Experience using Magento 2 or other major ecommerce platform.
- Comfort with the Google Marketing Platform and tools (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, AdWords, Merchant Center, Search Console). Should also have working knowledge of SEMRush, Moz, or similar auxiliary reporting tools.
- Advanced analysis and reporting skills. Ability to draw actionable insights from the data and clearly communicate them with management and the team.
- Experience with Salsify or similar content management system.
- Basic knowledge of SEO best practices for optimized search and page ranking.
- Technical skills, including HTML, Java, and CSS, highly desired for issue resolution and on-site SEO optimization.
- Recent experience working with an ESP for email creation, scheduling, and reporting highly desired.
- Recent experience implementing paid search and display campaigns preferred.
- Basic Photoshop experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent time-management skills and attention to detail.
