We're seeking an Assistant Controller with a background spanning various industries to contribute to our rapidly growing company. If you enjoy accounting and bookkeeping, are highly organized, and ready to make a positive impact, we want you on our team! As an Assistant Controller, you will oversee the accurate and timely management of accounting operations for diverse industries, ensuring quality control over transactions and reporting.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent relevant bookkeeping work experience.
- 3+ years of manager-level accounting/bookkeeping experience.
- 2+ years of construction accounting experience is desired.
- Minimum of 3 years of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online experience.
- Experience working with multiple clients across various industries.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is a plus (training available for the right candidate).

General Skills and Qualifications:

- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including general ledger, A/P, A/R, cash management, job costing, and certified payroll.
- Maintenance of a clean and accurate Chart of Accounts.
- Preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports in QuickBooks.
- Advanced Excel skills, including macro/VBA writing and data manipulation.
- Knowledge of 1099s, cash and accrual basis accounting, accrual reversals, and amortization schedules.
- Ability to track sales tax on projects and handle sales tax reporting.
- Excellent computer skills and adaptability to new technologies.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple clients and tasks.
- Experience working in a fully remote role.
- Exposure to various industries, including but not limited to construction, franchise, insurance, manufacturing, retail, lawn care, real estate, computer/software, and medical/dental/health services.

Additional Information:

Out of the Box values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer. We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), matching contributions, dental insurance, disability insurance, health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance.
