Job description
SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer/Planner works collaboratively with engineering and operational staff to review, interpret and process customer requirements to the production environment. Reviewing customer purchase orders, blue prints, bill of materials, material/processing specifications to create detailed manufacturing plans for production use. Work with production departments to refine and improve manufacturing processes/instructions to increase quality & efficiency of production processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and associated parts lists.
- Create detailed manufacturing plans & bill of materials facilitate production of details & assemblies.
- Maintain & update manufacturing plans as needed.
- Create re-work planning for parts or tools as required.
- Review, documents and approve customer engineering changes.
- Review and approve customer purchase order requirements and changes.
- Collaborate with engineering/production to ensure all data, information, drawings, and other necessary information is available to build quality parts.
- Create detailed Standard Work Instructions (SWI)
- Assist Quality, Engineering & manufacturing to ensure compliance with AS9100.
- Maintain ERP system items listing, revisions and activities
- Assist in investigating & resolving manufacturing issues
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's or associate degree in an Engineering field preferred; or a combination of experience and education
- Minimum 3 year's hands-on experience in Aerospace Planning in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems
- Experience utilizing CAD/3D software is a plus; CATIA/SolidWorks preferred.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
- CPIM certification preferred
