A Day in Your Life at MKS:

We have an excellent opportunity for someone to join the Services Team, Newport Instruments product brand, as a Test and Calibration Engineer for the ISO 17025 certified Photovoltaic Laboratory. This role will be on-site in the North Logan, Utah facility.

The Photovoltaic Laboratory Test and Calibration Engineer performs tests and calibrations of photovoltaic cells and related equipment, as scheduled by the Calibration Supervisor and Customer Service Representatives, by following procedures and work instructions controlled within the laboratory management system. This role reports to the Calibration Supervisor in the Operations organization and works closely alongside Quality and Engineering.

You Will Make an Impact By:

The Test and Calibration Engineer is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and operation of the laboratory. They also submit ideas for improvements in the quality system and/or the measurement and calibration procedures. They are expected to assist in performing tests related to method modification, as well as new method and software development and validation. They respond to customer queries for technical support and data validation.

Skills that You Bring

· BS/MS in Physics, Engineering, or related field, or current student

· Knowledge of test, measurement, data analysis, and report generation procedures

· Meticulous attention to detail

· Process and process improvement experience

· Advanced troubleshooting skills

· Willingness and ability to participate in Management Reviews, internal/external audit proceedings, proficiency tests, and inter-laboratory comparisons.

Preferred Experience:

· Familiarity with NI LabView development environment

· Competency with calibration software

· Laboratory operations experience, preferably with optical or opto-electrical systems

· Inspection and Preventative Maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and equipment

· Relevant industry certification(s)

· Top candidates will have a minimum of 1 year of experience as a calibration technician/engineer.
