Reporting directly to the Category Manager, the Steel Sourcing Coordinator is an individual contributor role providing administrative support to the steel sourcing function in the Sonoco Metal Packaging division .
What you'll be doing:
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies related to steel, aluminum, outside processing, and ODM’s and communicate with suppliers.
Work directly with external suppliers to review invoice or payment inquiries.
Support supplier communications related to material quality claims (SNOC’s)
Maintain supplier payment terms, supplier remit to address changes, and audit accuracy and consistency through Oracle/Coupa/QAD systems.
Upload manual ASN’s and coordinate receiving with material facilities.
Manage ‘nonstandard’ payment requests and maintain PO’s for storage, barging, handling charges, etc.
Provide payment remittances.
Provide payment status upon request.
Calculate monthly steel coil yield.
Verify and submit invoice payment due date change requests on an ‘as needed’ basis.
Aid in the procurement of items and materials required to support production, maintenance, and supplier development.
Data entry, inventory reconciliation, and reviews of variances in Oracle and QAD.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Maintain and update procurement policies and operating instructions related to AP functions.
Manage expediting activities through supplier contacts, and track material receipts.
Professionally resolve procurement related AP issues in a fair and ethical manner.
Coordinate production and delivery requirements to meet operating needs.
Responsible for plant associated bill of material accuracy.

Reasoning Ability : Effective problems solving skills; Prioritize own workload
Computer Skills: Proficient in the use of computers, spreadsheets, data base programs and ERP systems; Knowledgeable/experience using purchasing and retail information systems, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Other: APICS participation preferred; Some negotiation and organizational skills and ability to interact with all levels of management; Strong communication skills both oral and written; Must be familiar with ISO requirements; Perform cost reduction analysis
This position is located in our Broomfield, Colorado facility.

Education Required: Associates Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
Education Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related discipline
Experience: 1-3 years of purchasing or finance experience with sound business experience required
Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this role is below. This position is eligible for overtime.
Steel Sourcing Coordinator is from $41,400 to $49,680
Steel Sourcing Coordinator II is from $42,675 to $51,210
Senior Steel Sourcing Coordinator is from $47,700 to $57,240
