*Position Overview:*

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team and play a key role in establishing a robust infrastructure to support our ongoing growth. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic startup environment and possess a combination of technical expertise, analytical prowess, and a passion for problem-solving.

*Responsibilities:*

- Manage end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, contract management, and oversight of corporate credit card and travel expense programs.
- Lead month-end closing and financial reporting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards for both Canadian and US entities.
- Conduct monthly bookkeeping for the Canadian entity, maintaining meticulous records and documentation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Support annual financial audit processes, facilitating smooth and efficient audits.
- Prepare and remit GST/HST and sales tax filings, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and regulations.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
- Present insights and recommendations to finance leadership, contributing to strategic decision-making and operational excellence.

*Qualifications:*

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA designation or equivalent certification.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel; direct experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with exposure to US GAAP.
- Prior experience in B2B SaaS or high-growth environments is advantageous.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and goal achievement.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
