Job description
Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineer/Consultant at GDIA, you will play a pivotal role in enabling advanced analytics technologies within the Big Data space to enhance the quality, design, marketing, and development of Ford's current and future products. This includes spearheading the creation of a production-connected vehicle analytics platform to provide valuable insights to Ford Vehicle Engineers. We are seeking a full-stack Software Engineer proficient in Python, Java, and Angular, with a strong foundation in Lean/Agile methodologies. Experience with Big Data tools and techniques is highly desirable.
Collaborate closely with business partners, product managers, and designers to deliver quality software products that meet customer requirements
Manage multiple priorities inherent in a large software development ecosystem
Educate business partners on our iterative development approach, focusing on delivering Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) through strategic prioritization
Enhance technical capabilities and guide team members
Skills Required:
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented design principles and software engineering concepts
Hands-on experience building Python/PySpark and/or Angular/Java applications from design to delivery
Knowledge of Google Cloud Technologies (Cloud Run, DataProc, BigQuery)
Proficiency in addressing Big Data & Analytics use cases and solving related challenges
Eagerness to learn new skills and apply them to solve business problems
Skills Preferred:
Demonstrated ability to architect solutions and mentor team members
Experience developing software for Automotive/Manufacturing companies
Familiarity with large multi-national corporations and navigating diverse stakeholder landscapes
Experience Required:
Minimum of 6 years of work experience in delivering customer-facing products
At least 2 years of strong development experience in Python and/or Java on a Public Cloud Platform
Experience Preferred:
Previous experience in Automotive/Manufacturing industries
Exposure to working in large multi-national corporations
Education Required:
Bachelor s degree in computer science or similar technical discipline
Education Preferred:
Google Cloud Certification

General Coding Proficiency
Safety Training/Licensing/Personal Protection may be required
Additional Information:
This is a hybrid position, requiring the ability to work on-site at Ford s Dearborn offices
