Job description
Responsibilities:
Summary - Directs and manages evening warehousing activities and operations for organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors
Establishes and maintains operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
Manages the overall operations and processes to ensure vehicles are loaded and prepared for next day deliveries
Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment, ensuring all conditions and equipment are safe and orderly
Coordinates with Router Supervisor to ensure timeliness of requirements
Ensures that required daily reports are submitted; provides daily reports to supervisor
Prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment
Continuously reviews work practices and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and safety of all operations
Monitors work practices to ensure maximum productivity and safety
Monitors subordinate supervisors
Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing
Coordinates and chairs monthly warehouse meetings to ensure employees are informed of changes and updated on performance expectations
Trains new employees and retrains as necessary
Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities
Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager
Manages and supervises employees and supervisor in the Evening Warehousing Department
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
