Job description
Civil Project Engineer
Location: Brooklyn
Type: Fulltime
*Part of a $300M project
Qualifications: 4-8 years of civil construction experience
B.S. in Civil Engineering preferred
Maintain up to date knowledge of the contract specifications and scopes of work
Knowledge of project schedules, status reports, profit projections
Ability to read and understand drawings
Prepare clear and concise reports and letters
OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30
Must meet requirements to work in the US (form I9)
Valid driver's license
Responsibilities: Supervise multiple field engineers
Coordinate and interface with owners, owner representatives and construction management teams to ensure efficiency
Develop construction means and methods working drawings and submittals
Provide technical engineering by interpretating plans and specs
Process and track change orders
Parts and Materials ensure materials are on site when needed
Assist in securing equipment
Process transmittals, submittals, RFI's and change orders
Ensure compliance with all appropriate standards, codes, and specifications
Subcontractor coordination and monitor for contract adherence
Research and resolve drawing problems, errors, etc.
Contribute to fostering effective communication between field and project team
Assist with safety compliance
Physical Demands/Working Conditions: Work in varying weather and temperatures
Sit and/or stand for extended periods
Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination needed to use a variety of office equipment such as computer, telephones, calculators, copiers, and drafting equipment
Visual acuity to perform drafting, review plans, and perform other essential functions of the job
Occasionally walk on uneven terrain and/or across bridges
May be required to work more than 40 hours a week and/or work irregular hours
