Summary:

Winchester Public Schools, a city school division with approximately 4,400 students and 741 full time employees, is seeking a Finance Specialist to work in the Central Administrative Offices. The successful candidate will assist the Director of Finance by performing accounting tasks in order to support the Winchester Public Schools finance related functions.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

• Review and approve purchase requisitions.
• Procurement card reconciliation.
• Ensure procurements are compliant to all state and local procurement laws and ethical standards.
• Assist with review of all goods and service contracts.
• Assist with the development and execution of procurement strategies and guidelines.
• Assist School departments with day-to-day purchasing and contract related questions surrounding school purchasing policies.
• Assist with procurement training in group or with individuals.
• Assist with research of legal aspects of public procurement, vendor information, resources and needs.
• Assist Accountant in charge of Accounts Payable with internal and external accounts payable questions, inquiries and invoice batch entry.
• Serve as backup on Accounts Payable duties such as vendor maintenance, check printing etc.
• Assist with tracking capital assets over $5,000.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance which are applicable to this position and in accordance with Winchester Public policies and procedures.

Salary:

Range for salary is $16.98 to $36.22 per hour
