Job description

The Manager contributes to the overall planning and management of the organization. This position is responsible for the management of all accounting and fiscal activities. The Accounting Manager plays a key role in the coordination and communication between SHE departments and with segments of Federal, State, and local government.


Responsibilities:

• Coordinate staff workload, including assignments and task management.
• Ensure tasks are accomplished and deadlines are met.
• Support, mentor, and coach staff.
• Responsible for day-to-day accounting operations.

• Review progress and completion of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank deposits, payroll, timekeeping, bank reconciliations, etc.

• Receive all action summaries and semi-monthly payroll journals.

• Update EE salary listing for payroll review.
• Reconcile miscellaneous receivables monthly.
• Complete Indirect Cost report monthly.
• Assist with maintaining SHE's bank account CEO portal.

• Co-administrate SHE's accounting software.
• Set up funds and projects.
• Close funds and projects and update all allocations at the end of funds and projects.
• Assist with setting up bank accounts, credit card issuance, and tracking.

• Review, approve, and process all mileage reimbursement submissions.
• Facilitate weekly accounting department staff meetings.
• Manage invoices for certain vendors for the CEO.

• Attend quarterly Finance-Audit Committee meetings and write up the minutes.

Must Haves:

• Ability to analyze data with successful results.
• Familiarity with the Federal accounting principles.
• Familiarity with nonprofit accounting.
• Ability to work compatibly as the agency's representative and of Directors to government agencies and the general public.

• Ability to communicate effectively with groups and individuals orally and in writing.

• Experience working with MIP and ABILA would be a plus.

• Appropriate combination of education, skill, and experience.
• An appropriate vehicle for work use is required.
• A valid California driver's license and current liability insurance are required.
