Job description
A loving family of four in Santa Monica is seeking a full-time, live-out, career nanny. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 10am-7pm (45 hours per week). The candidate should be flexible and open to schedule changes, later nights, and occasional weekends. The successful candidate will be warm, loving, open to child-led care, and will have prior experience with a holistic and respectful parenting style. There are two children, ages three and five years old. The family is non-formal and both parents are very involved in the children's upbringing. They have a gentle approach with clear boundaries and seek someone who shares this parenting style. The children are home-schooled, active, independent, and creative. This is a fully staffed home, so the candidate should be a team-player and have worked in a culturally diverse environment. The candidate must have the flexibility to travel and the potential for long-term travel. This ensures a seamless and predictable work arrangement.
The primary responsibilities include planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and play-time that promotes physical, emotional, and intellectual development in a safe environment, driving to/from activities, preparing healthy and nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements, organizing bedroom toys, swimming with the children, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. A background in Montessori education-related approaches and fluency in additional languages is a plus. You must have a valid driver's license, be passport-ready, and be first aid and CPR certified. The family pays a competitive salary, DOE, with paid time off and a monthly health-care stipend.
