Employment Type : Full Time/Direct Hire with Full benefits
Pay Rate : $90000-$110000/Year
Job Description: Senior Bookkeeper / Assistant Controller – Long Island Our client has an immediate need for a senior bookkeeper / assistant controller who will be responsible for managing our client’s financial operations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all accounting functions for the business. This includes General Ledger, Financial Statements, Month-end close, Balance Sheets, daily entries etc.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivables for the organization
- Handle all tax and audit that complies with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings including corporate, income and sales related tax
- Resolve any issues with client receivables
- Able to communicate with outside CPA and financial institutions
- All banking including reconciliations and bank statements
- Manage all fixed assets including loan lease management
- Work with management and ownership across the organization to develop policies and procedures for successful cash flow and profitability
- Identify process improvements when necessary Oversee payroll management
Qualifications and Competencies - Ability to use confidential information in a professional manner
- Experience working in an accounting, finance environment
- Strong expertise in QuickBooks, including report building and class system
- Strong expertise in Excel
- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment with
- minimal oversight, demonstrating an ability to follow through with completion
- Ability to learn other software platforms
- Familiarity with ADP Run
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; or relevant
- work experience
- 5-10 years of progressive relevant accounting/bookkeeping/controller experience
- Ability to work for a small organization
- Works collaboratively and supports organizations’ priorities
