Job Description: - This position is for an experienced licensed mental health counselor located in the Egg Harbor Township, Cherry Hill, Camden, and Winslow NJ areas to provide counseling for children and their families for youth up to age 21. Work often includes working with at-risk youth with trauma.
- This position is blended and candidates will work in-office as well as in-homes with clients.
- Part-time and full-time opportunities are available depending on the applicant's experience.
Qualifications:
- Must have current New Jersey clinical licensure. (LCSW, LSW, LPC, LAC, LAMFT, or LMFT)
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field is required.
- Two or more years’ experience in mental health counseling for children and families.
- Must have experience working with individuals with trauma.
- Special consideration given to candidates with background and experience in play therapy (filial, Theraplay, child-centered, PCIT, MIM relationship assessment, DIR Floor time, TFCBT, PCRT, ACT, Ecosystemic) and/or background and experience in expressive/art therapy.
- Ability to make sound clinical judgments and to follow and give complex directions.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Good computer skills; familiarity with smartphone applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as assessments and procedure manuals.
- Must be reliable, punctual, organized, and a self-starter.
- Must be creative, enthusiastic, and a team player.
- Most of this role can be performed remotely, but some in-office work will be required.
Responsibilities:
- We offer advanced training, growth opportunities, and supervision opportunities to team members to increase clinical expertise and the quality of service provided to families.
- Provide direct mental health services to children and families.
- Completes intake and assessment, providing complete and accurate information necessary for treatment and billing.
- Designs and implements mental health treatment plans that promote healthy attachment, self-regulation, independence, impulse control, decision-making skills, and social responsibility and empathy.
- Works collaboratively with other team members who are supporting the clients including but not limited to care managers, behavioral assistants, educators, physicians, etc.
- Provides mental health telephone counseling for emergencies both during office hours and outside of office hours for clients.
- Attends monthly staff meetings and individual or group supervision as required for your licensure track.
