The role of the Operations Data Curation Engineer is a critical enabler to the development of Ford’s Data Supply Chain ( DSC ).
Contribute with overall data standards, information interoperability, data quality, and data availability to fully support the goals of GDI &A.
Works closely together with GDI &A Operational Analytics Team, IT Data Supply Chain ( DSC ) Team, Data Governance Team, the Finance and Material Planning and Logistics (MP&L) SMEs, and the external solution partners to drive alignment and delivery of the Data Factory and bring data up to the quality standards required to deliver on the business objectives.
What you’ll be able to do:
Create data warehouse objects of raw data, and Analytical Model objects which are data products of customized data environments in GCP BigQuery (Data Warehouse), crafted to facilitate access of the information, with the goal of supporting scalable growth, sustainability, reusability, faster analytical solutioning and to accelerate delivery of business value.
To build the Finance or MP&L Analytical Models, the Operations Data Curation Engineer has to work with the Finance or MP&L SMEs in the different areas of Finance or MP&L organizations and have a good understanding of the business, and the information flow.
To develop Data Models, the Operations Data Curation Analyst has to work with the Hadoop / GCP infrastructure team members to build the logic for these models.
Work with the Finance or MP&L Application owners and the DSC -IT to “Land” and “Transform” the data in the DSC Data warehouse on GCP BigQuery.
Contribute on the application screening process, the creation of the data catalog, landing process, and transformation process.
Be able to profile data elements containing personally identifiable information ( PII ) or sensitive personally identifiable information ( SPII ).
Collaborate with Operational Analytics and Democratized users on the creation of Dashboards or business solutions using Data Analytic tools like Alteryx, and Qlik.
The minimum requirements we seek:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Analytics, Science Chemical Engineering or a related field of study
3+ years of experience in handling data and data processes.
Our preferred requirements:
Experience with Alteryx, Qlikview, Qlikksense, SQL , R, or Python a plus
Experience working with data in Informatica
Strong collaboration and influencing skills, and the ability to energize a multi-functional team
Proven problem formulation with the ability to take complex problems and break them down to build and implement an action plan
Ability to communicate findings to make data analysis meaningful and understandable by Data Operations team members, business partners, including IT and analytic teams
Ability to optimally communicate information and ideas in written and verbal formats, including process documentation
Experience developing data standards
Experience working in Hadoop, particularly with HDFS and Hive
