Specialist, Merchant Payroll

Reports To

Team Lead, Merchant Payroll

Job Purpose

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the data entry of payroll processing for clients of East Commerce Solutions and provides ongoing service and support to all Payroll Clients. They maintain the payroll processing system as well as records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data.  

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit payroll checks on weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly basis, as well as bonuses and off-cycle checks when necessary
• Prepares follow-up for Stop Payment requests, manual check requests, and associated system updates
• Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications
• Maintain and document all payroll records
• Respond to employer inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns
• Keep abreast of the payroll processing system and changes in wage/tax laws, and applies changes as appropriate

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college degree preferred
• Minimum of 1 year payment processing experience
• Familiar with ADP RUN and Time & Attendance or similar systems required
• Should be familiar with payroll software and payroll reports
• Process payroll for 400+ Employers
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Excellent written skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Great energy, engaging, and enjoys collaborating with the team
• Proactive mindset
