We are seeking a full-time , day shift experienced nurse with an interest in cardio-pulmonary medicine to join our team on the Acute Pulmonary Unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital's Heart and Vascular Institute. Our patient population consists of complex pulmonary diagnoses and patients needing pulmonary interventions such as Endobronchial valves, VATS procedures, Bronchoscopy's as well as CHF, Dysrhythmia, and anti-rhythmic loading.

Inova Fairfax Hospital is hiring a full time RN for the Acute Pulmonary Unit. APU is a fast paced, top performing unit with core values of teamwork, patient advocacy, and excellent patient care. Shift: 3 X 12hr Day Shifts

Our specialty patient population includes but is not limited to:

• COPD
• CHF
• Dysrhythmia
• Anti-rhythmic loading
• Asthma
• Cystic Fibrosis
• Pulmonary Fibrosis
• Acute respiratory failure
• Pre-lung transplant patients
• Lung cancer
• Sarcoidosis
• EBV Valves
• Inpatient Hospice patients

• Quarterly unit based education including advanced lung disease processes
• Competitive nursing ratios with 3-4:1 on days and 3-4:1 on nights
• Highly trained charge nurses out of staffing 24/7 for resource
• Highly involved core management team including our clinical director, unit supervisors, and patient navigator to assist with education and transitional care needs
• A zero-tolerance policy for negativity or disrespect between team members
• Clinical technicians to provide CNA and phlebotomy support

Requirements: Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting

Minimum Education Requirement: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 24 months of start date BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required and ACLS strongly preferred (must obtain within first 3 months)

Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement :

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.
