Job description

If so, O'Neil's Glass may be right for you. O'Neil's Glass is a growing commercial glazing company based in Fort Wayne, IN. This position is a member of a field team that primarily installs commercial glass and aluminum systems to commercial buildings. This includes storefronts, curtain walls, entrance doors, skylights, etc.
Individuals with experience as carpenters, sheet metal installers, and other trades encouraged to apply
Responsibilities:
- Follow direction of Team Leader
- Use measuring tape, plumb lines, and levels to ensure proper fitting installation
- Safely and securely load, transport, and deliver glass, doors, frames, and other materials
- Install work according to blueprints, specifications, and install instructions
- Install and adjust miscellaneous door hardware
- Ensure work is performed properly maintaining quality standards
- Assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolds, rigging, and hoisting equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite
- Follow company, customer, and OSHA safety guidelines
- Additional responsibilities based on experience
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and insurable to drive company vehicles as needed
- Ability to work in high-stress conditions and quickly changing environments
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Able to use basic hand tools
- Able to read tape measure within 1/16"
- Self-motivated
- Punctual and dependable
- Positive attitude
- Willingness to learn
- Able to work outside in various weather conditions
- Comfortable with high work (lifts, swing stages, etc.) above 8 ft
- Construction and/or glass handling experience preferred
- Carpenters, sheet metal, and other trade experience encouraged
Physical Requirements:
- Exposure to the outdoor elements year-round and construction site dangers
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolds for extended periods
