Job description

 

Job Summary: Provide expertise to acquire, manage, manipulate, and analyze data and report results for a variety of stakeholders including physicians, administrative staff and department leaders. This position requires having the interpretation skills necessary to turn a request for information into a useful report including the ability to design, create, and communicate.

 


Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Daily Operations

§ Review and analyze data.

§ Prioritize improvement opportunities to meet strategic hospital goals for value-based

purchasing and other quality and/or payer metrics for performance.

· Participate in system surgical value analysis team to include supply chain, contracts, and equipment purchases.

· Develop financial analysis reports including case cost analysis, billing, and reimbursement.

§ Develop graphs, reports, and presentations of project results

§ Perform basic statistical analyses for projects and reports

§ Create and present quality and business dashboards

§ Generate routine and ad hoc reports

 


Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:

 

Knowledge/Skills

§ Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint.

§ Advanced knowledge in use of Microsoft Excel.

§ Programming skills a plus. Adept at queries and report writing.

§ Knowledge of statistics

§ Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner

· Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams to achieve organization-wide outcomes

· Able to comprehend clinical data

 

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

Associate degree from an accredited college or university required.

 

Experience

Minimum of 3 years in healthcare. Experience in perioperative services preferred. Knowledge in advanced computer skills and database management

 

Additional Skills/Abilities: Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing, changing tasks frequently and quickly. Ability to assist with setting priorities and follow through with workload. Group facilitation skills, highly effective interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are necessary. Coordination, monitoring, assessing and evaluation skills are needed. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and statistical applications. Meditech report writing a plus.
