Job description
Pet Emergency & Specialty Center of Marin (PESCM ) - Emergency & Specialty Care for Pets in Marin County, located in the north Bay Area, is inviting Veterinary Students to apply for our popular Summer Job Program!
What:
This paid work experience places you in the center of a busy tertiary emergency and specialty hospital. During your time, you will work as a vet assistant playing an active role in patient care side by side with the specialists, emergency doctors, and skilled nursing team.
Compensation: $20-$23/hour
Our unique immersive program rotates you through several specialty departments , giving you exposure and experience to multiple facets of veterinary medicine! Throughout the program, you will meet with a dedicated mentor doctor to discuss your experience, learning, and goals.
When:
6-8 weeks full time with the option for flexible work schedule (i.e., four 10-hour days, five 8-hour days). Some weekends, and evening coverage may be required.
Where:
The Pet Emergency and Specialty Center of Marin is located in San Rafael, CA. We are in close proximity to San Francisco, East Bay, Napa Valley, and Sonoma County. Departments include:
- 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care
- Surgery
- Internal Medicine
- Neurology
- Cardiology
- Radiology
- Oncology
- Ophthalmology
- Urgent Care including exotics and pocket pets
Time during the program can be split among the following departments listed above.
Requirements:
Candidates must be a 1st through 3rd year veterinary student in an accredited veterinary school and submit their resume or CV as well as completed application.
