Job Description: Structural Steel Fabrication Project Manager Overview: gpac is representing a leading structural steel fabrication firm, specializing in the construction of large and complex structures. We are seeking a highly qualified Structural Steel Fabrication Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in managing projects involving the fabrication of large and intricate steel structures. A degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering is essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for structural steel fabrication projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project goals, scope, and deliverables.
- Project Planning:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Ensure alignment with client expectations, industry standards, and safety protocols.
- Client Interaction:
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Address client inquiries, concerns, and changes promptly and professionally.
- Team Collaboration:
- Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
- Coordinate with engineers, fabricators, and quality control teams to ensure project success.
- Quality Control:
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to meet or exceed project specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure fabrication meets safety and quality standards.
- Budget Management:
- Monitor project budgets, expenses, and financial performance.
- Identify and address potential budget overruns or deviations.
- Schedule Adherence:
- Oversee project schedules, ensuring timely completion of fabrication milestones.
- Proactively address and mitigate delays to optimize project timelines.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management for structural steel fabrication projects.
- Proven track record of managing large and complex steel structure projects.
- Leadership Skills:
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional project teams.
- Communication:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes, codes, and regulations.
- Familiarity with project management tools and software.
