The Office of Advanced Practice Providers (OAPP) is committed to the development, support and guidance of current and future Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) while working in collaboration with clinical departments, physicians and clinicians, leaders, and practices across UT Southwestern Medical Center. The APPs consist of all types of advance practice nurses (Certified Nurse Midwives, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Nurse Practitioners) and Physician Assistants. Recognizing that APPs are integral members of the health care team, OAPP assists in the coordination and improved integration of Advanced Practice Providers across the continuum of care at UT Southwestern Medical Center.   

Job Summary

Serve in the role of Assistant Director of APP Fellowship/Post-graduate & APP Informatics endeavors across the UTSW enterprise. The Assistant Director of Advanced Practice Providers (APP) will provide leadership and oversight of assigned APP fellowship/post-graduate programs. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the programs.  Render subject matter expertise for fellowship program accreditation.  Support APP Fellowship programs in efforts including, but not limited to: recruitment and candidate evaluation, APP Fellow on-boarding, curriculum development and implementation, preceptor development, new program development, and APP fellow/preceptor evaluation.  Lead OAPP educational efforts for APP Fellowship programs and staff APPs. 

They will also provide leadership and support to the development and cultivation of APP focused informatics in efforts including, but not limited to: understanding, integrating, and applying information technology in support OAPP and health system objectives and goals, collaborate with stakeholders in the development of APP specific data sets and digital dashboards to provide clarity and transparency around APP practice, drive efficient and effective use of clinical information systems and technology to achieve organizational goals as it pertains to APP practice.

Responsible for direct/indirect supervision of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in assigned departments and divisions.
