Job description
The Machine Services Intern will assist machine technicians in servicing and maintaining all fabrication machinery. Learning essential aspects of the trade through the mentorship of seasoned technicians.
- Help to diagnose and repair automated CNC, PLC and industrial PC controlled machinery and equipment, including robots, welders and a variety of sheet metal, copper tube, wire shelf and glass fabrication equipment.
- Perform necessary preventative maintenance tasks as required.
- Submit service reports in a timely manner utilizing maintenance management software.
- Communicate with machinery manufacturer’s service department via email or phone in resolving issues whenever necessary.
- Place replacement part orders for machinery repairs as required.
- Help maintain spare part inventory accuracy.
- Effectively communicate with appropriate parties regarding machinery repair status.
- Communicate frequently with STAT Dept. Manager and Automated Technician group Supervisor on the status of repairs, PM’s and projects.
- May work on specialized automation and integration projects. (New process equipment and special machines)
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Completion of 1 year of technical school in Automation or Electrical Technology required.
- Basic knowledge and use of basic hand tools is preferred.

- Computer skills: General computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software preferred, but not required.
The hours for this position are 5:40am- 4:10pm, Monday through Thursday.
