The Community Benefit Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating and supporting key activities for the Community Health Needs Assessment as well the hospital- based CHIPs.
A day in the life of a Communit Benefits Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Works collaboratively with legal and government relations team, various hospital system leadership, communications, finance and the foundation.
- Assists with the development and execution of the implementation plan for community benefit to ensure timeliness of reports, billing and/or program evaluation.
- Assist with scheduling, coordinating and attending relevant community and internal meetings and events.
- Responsible for tracking and entering community benefit activity into the database. Also ensures the data integrity and information reliability.
- Lead hospital in assessing their community benefit assets, developing and managing community outreach initiatives and measuring and reporting program accomplishments and results.
- Promotes community outreach partnership development and collaborative planning.
- Develops and maintains current knowledge of community benefit principles and practices to share with others.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Associate's degree.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Three years of experience in community health work.
- Knowledge and experience in community- based health planning and programming.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to develop effective and collaborative working relationships with individuals representing a broad range of constituencies.
- Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and group facilitation skills.
- Ability to compile and disseminate diverse information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms.
