Job description

To assist in developing and maintaining HIPAA compliant ANSI X12 EDI healthcare transactions for PHC. Responsibilities include programming the federal and/or state mandated transactions and other EDI applications using tools & technologies such as EDI Translators, Microsoft SSIS/SSRS package solutions, Microsoft Transaction SQL blocks and Oracle PL/SQL.

 

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or a related field preferred. Five years of experience in Information Systems. Two to five years of experience in health care. Demonstrated experience with large, highly complex projects.

 

Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications

Strong experience in SQL - with an understanding of relational databases, including advanced query writing, table creation and manipulation, query optimization, and code debugging. At least 3 years of experience with Database Development with Oracle, SQL Server 2005 and/or 2008. Advanced SQL experience in relational database DDL, DML, Transact SQL, PL/SQL / stored procedures, SSIS / SSRS, data modeling and SQL optimization. Experience with EDI and knowledge of translators is preferred. Experience with .NET technologies such as VB.NET, ASP.NET, ADO.NET is a plus. Certification on either the Microsoft or Oracle platform is plus. Detail oriented. Knowledge of health care coding systems. Writing and verbal ability important.

 

 

Performance Based Competencies

Ability to quickly acquire in-depth knowledge of AMYSIS software and managed care issues. Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to interpret and understand technical requirements. Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve systems problems.

 

Work Environment And Physical Demands

More than 50% of work time is spent at a video display terminal. May be required to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, or work in other non-standing and non-sitting positions to install cabling, systems hardware and other related equipment.
