This job is a part time, non-benefited, FLSA exempt position in the Health Sciences Division that reports to the Program Director of Emergency Medical Services.



Salary : $26/hr.



Minimum Qualifications
An associate degree in emergency services or related field from a regionally accredited institution. Two years’ full-time experience in the field as a paramedic. Current State of GA Paramedic license or NREMT Paramedic, Current Georgia EMS Instructor Coordinator – AEMT or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. BLS, ACLS provider certification are required. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.



Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the minimum qualifications, Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field from a regionally accredited institution. Minimum of five years teaching experience in a CoAEMSP Accredited Paramedic Program preferred. BLS, ACLS, and ITLS (or PHTLS) instructor certification are preferred. Proficiency in preparation and delivery of instruction, advisement, and curriculum development. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, and students, in a collegial and multicultural environment. Excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills. Must be computer literate with the ability to use common software programs. Experience with online learning modalities preferred. Demonstrated flexibility with diverse student population and learning styles; demonstrated experience with a variety of teaching strategies including the use of advanced instructional technologies.



Job Description Summary:

Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom, lab or clinical instruction for credited Emergency Medical Services courses at Gwinnett Technical College. Implements program curriculum to meet state, national and/or accreditation standards. Develops program and syllabi, goals, and objectives. Teaches face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes as needed to provide course delivery and scheduling options that promote student retention and program completion. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues. Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts and participates in college and community activities. If offered a position, employees in this department must complete the Hazardous Materials Training as well as the Bloodborne & Airborne Pathogen training annually and complete Pre-employment Drug Screen. This position is also subject to random drug screen.



Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.



Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area.



Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.
