Director of Leadership in Medicine

Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular part-time.

Supervisor: Dean of Academic Departments and Programs

Position Purpose: Serves as liaison between faculty and staff at Union College, Clarkson University, and Albany Medical College (AMC) to ensure that the Leadership in Medicine (LIM) program maintains its integrity. Supports LIM students academically, and monitors student progress to ensure preparation for graduate study. Oversees all aspects of the LIM program at Union: student advising and mentoring, curriculum oversight, budget management, and program assessment. Convenes and manages the bi-annual committee meeting on student standing, and, when necessary, leads the committee and students through the probation, dismissal and appeal process. Teaches LIM students one course per year in their field of expertise. Organizes annual events, coordinates with Admissions to promote the program and communicates with prospective LIM students, and facilitates connections at AMC to create research opportunities and clinical experiential hours for LIM students.

LIM is a unique joint program with Albany Medical College and Clarkson University, combining the best of the liberal arts with outstanding medical training and an invaluable understanding of the business of healthcare. Our graduates earn three degrees in eight years: a Bachelor’s degree in a major of their choosing from Union, an M.D. from Albany, and either an M.S. or an M.B.A. in Healthcare Management from Clarkson. Compensation

The annual salary for this position is $58,500.00. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
