Job description
Job Title: Procurement/Buyer E ngineer
Location: Windsor Locks, Connecticut
Job Description: - Work with the customer to identify qualified suppliers for key aerospace electrical components
- Review supplier quotations and evaluate for cost, turnaround time, and quality
- Follow standard work to place POs with suppliers
- Order parts from suppliers on behalf of the customer, addressing the priority needs for the customer
- Generate and maintain a tracker to track commitment dates, supplier progress, action items, and shipments
- Report out progress and status to the customer on a regular basis
- Assist in generating status reports and sitting in on status meetings to update key Client and customer stakeholders
- Understand supplier delivery risks and be empowered to generate mitigation plans
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to current supply chain customer processes, tools, trainings, etc.
- Adhere to import, export, and procurement regulations.
- May require some travel at times to client or supplier site
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as Part Prints, Bills of Material, Manufacturing Routings, and Job Order forms.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer proficiency with desired experience using Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
- Ability to prioritize work and adapt your work schedule to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree and 7+ year(s) of relevant experience
• Strong background in the aerospace industry
• Order book management, Supplier relationship management, real-time problem resolution
