Associate Project Control Specialist

Job description
By Light is hiring a Associate Project Control Specialist (PCS) for DISA/GNS projects in performing project monitoring and data control, conduct project audits, manage project financials, and serve as the liaison between project management and finance.
Entry-level professional capable of supporting the project accounting and cost reporting requirements of multiple mid-sized projects, including day-to-day interface with project management, client and contractor personnel; compare actuals with budgeted and indirect costs forecast, review monthly analysis with the Program Manager; assist in analysis of financial reports, revenue variance, unbilled analysis, and accruals for determination of progress; track project costs; create purchase requisitions for subcontractor labor and other direct cost funding; and submit monthly financial charts/reports for government tracking.
- Reports to Director of Finance
- Effectively communicate with Project Managers (PM) regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services-related to billing.
- Maintains Operational and Archival databases (SharePoint) to ensure all project timelines are met and documentation is accessible to all stakeholders.
- Track subcontractor invoicing cost and monitor performance against purchase order for subcontractor labor and other direct cost funding.
- Review and interpret new contracts and modifications
- Responsible for tracking purchase orders, invoice approvals, payments
- Assess and pursue opportunities for maximization of client billing; communicate with the Accounting Manager as to your observations and actions taken.
- Research any unbilled issues to optimize the billing possibilities for the billing period.
- Bachelor’s in a related field
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Strong analysis skills
- Costpoint and Govcon experience
- DOD Secret clearance required
