Job Title: EMS Director (Locums/1099)
Location: Binghamton, NY
Salary/Rate: $230/hr- $245/hr

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a motivated EMS Director to oversee and lead our Emergency Medical Services department in Binghamton, NY. The EMS Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of EMS operations, including staffing, training, quality assurance, and compliance. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the EMS department, including scheduling, staffing, and deployment of resources to ensure optimal coverage and response times.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in pre-hospital care.
- Recruit, train, and mentor EMS personnel, including paramedics, EMTs, and support staff, to maintain high standards of clinical excellence and professionalism.
- Monitor and evaluate EMS performance metrics, such as response times, patient outcomes, and customer satisfaction, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including hospital leadership, medical staff, and other departments, to coordinate patient care and streamline communication and workflow.
- Serve as a liaison with external agencies, including local EMS agencies, fire departments, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies, to foster collaboration and ensure effective coordination of emergency response efforts.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in pre-hospital care and emergency medicine, and incorporate best practices into EMS operations.
- Participate in community outreach initiatives, public education programs, and disaster preparedness efforts to promote public health and safety.
Requirements:
- Board certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM) is required.
- Current licensure as a physician in the state of New York.
- Previous experience in EMS leadership or management is preferred.
- Strong clinical background in emergency medicine, with proficiency in pre-hospital care and trauma management.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of EMS professionals.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards governing EMS operations.
- Commitment to patient-centered care, quality improvement, and professional development.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
