Saint Elizabeth Community in partnership with the Rhode Island Coalition for Elder Justice is seeking a

Communications Manager to work Part Time, Days

The Rhode Island Coalition for Elder Justice, sponsored by Saint Elizabeth Community, is a partnership among victim service agencies, senior service agencies, community groups, advocacy groups, law enforcement and state and federal agencies. Established in 2020, its vision is a Rhode Island where vulnerable adults are valued and protected from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The Coalition's mission is to create an effective community coordinated response to the abuse of older adults by enhancing services and safety for older adults, strengthening the criminal justice response to elder abuse, educating, and engaging the workforce and community. This position will carry out the public awareness and education plan with the Coalition to advance elder justice in Rhode Island and nationally and to continue to develop a sustainable, multidisciplinary, collaborative community response to all victims of abuse in later life.

Responsibilities of a Communications Manager:

• Assist the Members of Coalition to promote the elder abuse movement through the development of information, materials, and activities
• Conduct a needs assessment (survey) and develop a report on the state of elder abuse in RI and recommendations for improvement
• Participate in the development of a strategic plan, providing research, data as needed
• Implement the approved work plan related to public awareness
• Create a speaker's bureau and education program for professionals and elders
• Prepare advocacy materials for the priorities set by the Coalition and on behalf of elders
• Build relationships and collaborations to further the goals of the Coalition
• Maintain records and provide reports to the Director
• All other related duties as assigned

Qualifications for a Communications Manager:

• Bachelor's Degree in related field desired
• Experience working in a communications-type position
• Exceptional Communication skills - written and oral
• Detailed oriented and comfortable working under deadlines
• Superior organization skills work
• Committed to building collaborations and partnerships,
• Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Good people's skills
• Have willingness to learn
• Maintain confidentiality
• Possess a valid driver's license and a registered, insured vehicle
