Position Summary/Description:
We are excited to announce an open position for a creative, resourceful postdoctoral researcher at SMILE lab () at the School of Data Science and Society at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The ideal candidate should possess strong computational skills with a focus on computational imaging and deep learning. We are looking for a highly motivated individual eager to contribute to our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will undertake innovative machine learning research, addressing a range of computational imaging challenges across geoscience, medicine, and materials science, among other fields.
The initial appointment is for one year but may be extended depending upon performance and available funding.Education and Experience:
- Proficient in computational science and numerical optimization, especially in computational imaging.
- Solid understanding of the physics underlying computational imaging problems.
- Advanced skills in deep learning, with practical experience in various neural network architectures ( CNN , RNN / LSTM , Generative AI, and/or autoencoders).
- Proven ability in code development using high-performance parallel computing resources.
- Experienced in solving computational imaging problems with real measurements.
- Proven ability to innovate and work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
